Palm Pre Beating iPhone in Pre-Release Poll

If you don’t work for Palm or Sprint, chances are you’ve never touched a Palm Pre, which won’t even be available for sale until June 6. But that hasn’t stopped thousands in a new poll from deciding the Pre is better than the iPhone.

The survey, conducted by polling site Poll Daddy, has received more than 3,400 votes as of 2 p.m. ET on May 27. Despite hearing little more than rumor and speculation about the new Pre, nearly two-thirds of those polled picked it over the iPhone. Whether those voters turn into buyers remains to be seen, but the results may bode well for Pre’s opening day success.

Of course, as one commenter puts it, many may be comparing the new Pre to the current generation of iPhone. A new iPhone announcement, widely speculated to be a 32GB device, might sway people in Apple’s direction.
