Dialogic Snags a Host of Acquisitions
10/05/2007
Say goodbye to a host of big names, including Cantata Technology Inc., Excel Switching Corp., Brooktrout Technology Inc. and SnowShore Networks Inc. They are all subsidiaries of EAS Group Inc., which just got snapped up by Dialogic Corp. in a surprise share buy-out today. The former shareholders of EAS are now minority shareholders in Dialogic. Dialogic, which last year acquired Intel Corp.’s media and signaling business, said it plans to use the flagship products from each company to expand its service provider enablement proposition, specifically Cantata’s communication boards and software, the SnowShore IP Media Server, the Excel Converged System Platform and Multi-Services Platform, and Cantata’s IMG 1010. It also will shore up its enterprise business with the Brooktrout TR1000, Brooktrout TR1034, Brooktrout TruFax and Brooktrout SR140, Dialogic said. “We are very excited about this acquisition,” said Nick Jensen, Dialogic’s president and CEO. “It allows us to consolidate our position as the market segment leader, and broaden our leading edge product and services portfolio. Our customers can be assured that, despite our significant growth, we will remain a company that is easy to do business with. As well, all of our stakeholders can be assured that we will continue to build Dialogic through vision, focus and excellent execution of our strategy.” The new product lines will be added to Dialogic’s technology, including the Dialogic Host Media Processing software, Dialogic signaling software and its selection of media processing boards, SS7 signaling components and PBX-to-IP media gateways.
