The urgency for telephone companies to deliver unique packages of voice, video and data services is clear as the telcos see their core businesses erode in light of wireline replacement and competition from cable companies and other new service providers. But just how to get to the triple play still is largely up for debate. While many have chosen FTTH, others have business models that favor retaining some level of copper leading up to the home or apartment. But questions persist:

  • Which FTTN/IPDSLAM access technologies offer the right mix of leveraging existing investment while enabling new revenue-generating services – and being cost-effective?
  • What technologies will best position telcos for the future?
  • What is the ideal placement in the network for intelligent devices that will provision and manage this complex new mix of services?
  • And what is the most cost-effective architecture to use when serving high-rise or garden-type apartments?

Join us for a provocative look at these key questions and other issues as Amedia and xchange talk about the benefits of new VDSL2 technology and how it can position telcos for the triple play.
