Integra5, SeaChange Provide Converged Quad-Play Applications for IPTV

Integra5 announced full interoperability between SeaChange International Inc.’s TV Platform and Integra5’s i5 Converged Services Platform (i5 CSP), enabling North American IPTV operators to deliver an expanded portfolio of converged quad-play applications and services across TVs, PCs and other devices.

The i5 CSP allows service providers to deliver real-time converged communications and content across multiple devices, while SeaChange’s TV Platform, which includes modular client/set-top, network and back-office software options, enables operators to launch differentiated IPTV services.

Converged applications offered include SMS/MMS to TV and PC; core services such as click-to -call, call management, presence and location); caller ID and call notifications; customer care notifications; RSS alerts; video conferencing/voice mail; and targeted advertising.

With network and standards-based distributed architecture, the combined solution has the processing performance required for real-time delivery and management of signals and information between data, telephone, cable TV and cellular networks, the company said.

“Our combined offering with Integra5 allows IPTV service providers to differentiate themselves today with unique, customizable applications that deliver incremental voice, video and data application opportunities,” said Venkat Krishnan, director of IPTV at SeaChange.

Integra5 also has partnered with Minerva Networks Inc. to integrate Minerva’s iTVManager with the i5 CSP. iTVManager is an IPTV software platform that enables carriers to deliver broadcast-quality television and multimedia services over broadband networks. Combined with the i5 CSP, the iTVManager platform will provide a pre-integrated, end-to-end solution for deploying quad-play applications, according to Minerva.

iTVManager consists of TV applications, a set of service management tools and a range of open interfaces for developing applications and integrating other network systems and services. Its Client Applications feature provides a variety of video services including Live TV, Electronic Program Guide (EPG), VoD, pay-per-view and DVR.
