RadiSys Introduces Convedia Software Media Server

RadiSys Corp. has introduced the Convedia Software Media Server, which provides an IP audio and video media processing platform for Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA) and Linux-based platforms.

The Convedia Software Media Server provides equipment manufacturers and independent software vendors with an entry-level enterprise solution that is compatible with existing Convedia interfaces, while also addressing the growing trend toward deploying ATCA-based products, the company said.

The platform also uses RadiSys’ eXtended Media Processing (eXMP) technology, which delivers the same media processing features, management, and control interface options available on existing Convedia media servers, allowing telecom equipment manufacturers and VoIP application developers to use a single supplier when developing solutions for a variety of IP telecommunication services and markets.

Convedia is available on the company’s Promentum ATCA-4300 dual-core dual Xeon compute processing module as well as the IBM System x3550 server.
