Carlo Gavazzi Unveils New CompactPCI Switch Fabric
06/19/2007
Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions, an electronic packaging and system expansion solutions vendor, at NXTcomm is exhibiting its 5359 Series FabricPac SM CompactPCI 2.16 compliant switch fabric platform. In booth 4257SS at the show, the company will show this product, which is RoHS Level 5- and NEBS Level 3-compliant and contains two redundant IPMI system management cards supporting single or dual system manager operation. The IPMI system managers are integrated into the chassis electronics to provide a fully system-managed environment, including the cooling unit, system temperature, power supplies, fabric switches and boards. Designed to meet the demands of embedded, telecommunications, development, testing, military and measurement applications, the FabricPac SM offers dual AC or DC input 600 or 400 watt PICMG 2.11 power supplies and provides the system integrator with the flexibility of designing a system using both legacy bus-based and next-generation fabric base boards. Field-tested and proven, the FabricPac SM is 19-inch or 23-inch rack mountable and features a 15.75-inch (9U) by 12-inch enclosure. The FabricPac SM cooling system features an evacuation cooling design that is supported by a front removable fan tray, containing three high-powered fans that are speed-controlled and monitored by the IPMI system manager. Airflow is front intake with rear exhaust and has an average of 400 LFM per slot to all node, switch and power supply slots. The FabricPac SM contains a PICMG 2.16 switch fabric backplane that delivers a maximum data throughput of more than 40gbps. To ensure forward and backward compatibility, the backplane contains ten 2.16 fabric node slots (eight slots contain the 64b/33MHz PCI bus) and two switch slots.
