Accedian Offers New Ethernet SLA-meter

03/01/2007

Accedian Networks Inc. added a Performance Assurance Agent to its EtherNID Ethernet Demarcation Device product line, which is designed for last-mile CPE interconnection with metro aggregation platforms.

The upgrade enables the Accedian EtherNID to offer constant in-service monitoring of SLA parameters, including packet loss, latency, jitter and end-to-end availability.

“In a world where best-effort carrier Ethernet is no longer acceptable or sufficient, the EtherNID now allows carriers and operators to ensure and guarantee their service level agreements throughout the end-to-end path on an ongoing basis, 24/7, and provides a reliable way to map out the health of their networks,” said Patrick Ostiguy, CEO of Accedian Networks.

Accedian Networks’ Performance Assurance Agent operates in a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint fashion and is capable of monitoring multiple simultaneous flows. Furthermore, it operates at both Layer 2 and Layer 3 and can assure SLAs by VLAN, class of service, type of service and EVC.
