Timbercon Rolls Out Light ARMOR

Timbercon Inc. at GLOBALCOMM on Tuesday introduced the Light ARMOR fiber-optic cable assembly product line for customers needing a lightweight, durable fiber cable solution for applications that require more ruggedization than traditional cable optic patch cords.

Constructed with protective plastic jacketing, Timbercon Light ARMOR cable assemblies are crush-resistant, bend-limiting and waterproof, the company said. The new product line complements Timbercon's Ruggedized Stainless Steel and harsh environment product lines.

"This product line allows us to offer a high-performance solution, positioned between our traditional fiber-optic cables and our heavily ruggedized stainless steel, outside plant, and harsh environment products," said Jayson Lizardo, product manager for Timbercon. "These products provide increased fiber protection while keeping product weight to a minimum, making this the ideal solution for applications requiring additional product durability, but stopping short of the heavily ruggedized products."

The Light ARMOR Cable Assemblies are available in simplex and duplex construction with a number of termini connector options; single mode, multimode or polarization maintaining fiber types; and a variety of custom configurations.
