MetaSwitch Broadens Scope of Partner Program, Will Take Part in MSF Interop

06/05/2006

MetaSwitch has expanded its partner program to meet the demands of all types and sizes of carriers, from large global service providers to smaller regional carriers.

In addition to signing 14 new partners, MetaSwitch is building a range of end-to-end deployment scenarios in its Alameda, Calif., testing and demonstration facility. Vendors recently joining the MetaSwitch Partner Program include Allied Telesyn, Calix, Cordell, CustomCall Data Systems, Dash911, IBM/Micromuse, Integra5, IP Unity, Newport Networks, Mpathix, Nuera, Rodopi Software, TeleSciences and Vapps.

The new program members add to existing partner solutions. Solutions include access equipment, application servers, OSS and billing solutions, and wholesale interexchange carrier services, hosted application services and system integrators.

MetaSwitch also has signed up to participate in the MultiService Forum’s GMI 2006 test event. The company will demonstrate the full strength of the Multimedia-Enhanced Telephony Architecture (META) strategy, targeted at carriers migrating to converged multi-service networks.

“By leveraging the test networks of leading carriers worldwide, the GMI 2006 event is the definitive interoperability test event focused on IMS,” said Roger Ward, president of the MultiService Forum. “MetaSwitch is participating in its third consecutive GMI test event, a clear indication of its commitment to service and infrastructure interoperability in support of carrier IMS deployments worldwide.”

GMI 2006 will bring together dozens of carriers and vendors to test the interoperability of IMS-based infrastructure components in a real-world setting. Providing a test-bed for the full spectrum of hardware, processes and services needed to assemble an effective next-generation delivery platform, GMI2006 is designed to validate MSF Release 3 Implementation Agreements covering a wide range of topics including roaming across multiple network types (including cellular and Wi-Fi), QoS issues (including session border control and bandwidth management), and interoperability with 3GPP release 4.
