Swisscom Mobile Adds Portal’s Data Roaming Solution

Swisscom Mobile has completed its migration to Portal Software Inc.’s flagship Portal 7 platform for billing and revenue management.

The migration delivers support for data roaming and concludes the second phase of a multiphase program to replace Swisscom Mobile’s legacy billing system.

By the project’s completion, Portal will be providing the billing, invoicing and revenue sharing capabilities for Swisscom Mobile.

Portal’s roaming manager delivers flexibility on products and bundles using up-to-date standards, such as TAP3, to take advantage of global roaming initiatives while hiding the complexity of the third-party value chain, the company says.

“Swisscom’s ability to bring new data services to market in record time further validates Portal’s platform approach to convergent billing,” said Bhaskar Ghorti, vice president of worldwide sales, services, marketing and alliances at Portal. “Today’s service providers demand billing solutions that can short circuit time-to-market and time-to-revenue for new services – this is what we’ve built Portal 7 to deliver upon.”
