OEN Makes Carriage Deal with AZN Television

Optical Entertainment Network (OEN) announced today at TelcoTV it has signed a long-term digital IP carriage commitment with AZN Television and International Networks.

All of the Comcast-owned network's channels will be launched over OEN's FISION FTTH service in Houston, Texas. This will provide the largest selection of Asian and foreign language programming in the U.S. market, the company says. FISION will deploy digital IP video, Internet and voice service to 1.6 million households in Houston, the 10th largest television market in the country.

OEN has acquired programming agreements for IPTV distribution from top television networks and studios and will deliver more than 400 television channels, including more than 50 channels of HDTV.

The company also says it will offer subscription video-on-demand, pay-per-view specials and events, and original programming created by OEN Studios, the television production arm of OEN. The FISION service will deliver 10mbps of symmetrical Internet services to subscribers' homes and will offer applications such as telemedicine and home security.

AZN TELEVISION is a cable television channel targeting Asian Americans.

Programming includes Asian and Bollywood films, dramas, anime, Asian pop music, sports, originals produced in the United States and news from Asia. Programming is offered in various Asian languages, and many are subtitled in English.

The carriage agreement includes AZN Television, ART, CCTV-4, CTI, MBC, C1R, RTN, RAI, Rang-a-Rang, SBTN, The Filipino Channel, TV5, TV Asia, TV Japan, TV Polonia and TVK24.
