Cincinnati Bell Gets Jamster!

Cincinnati Bell has made premium content from VeriSign Inc.’s Jamster! service available to its mobile subscribers.

Jamster! is a mobile portal provider with a broad catalog of content, including ringtones from popular artists, games and wallpapers. The turnkey service handles content on-boarding, aggregation, formatting, mediation and billing, as well as advertising and marketing to subscribers.

Cincinnati Bell customers can purchase the content by entering advertised shortcodes – short-cut number keys – to instantly purchase an item with their handsets, the charge then appearing on the phone bill.

“Mobile content is a new revenue generator for carriers,” says Vernon Irvin, executive vice president and general manager at VeriSign Communications Services.
