Agilent Adds Cable Features to NgN VoIP Test system

Agilent has introduced new test and measurement tools for cable operators launching VoIP services. The new tools build on the company's NgN Analysis System, its existing product for VoIP monitoring.

The new product adds support for the Common Open Service protocol (COPS), a standard feature of the cable industry's PacketCable system for multimedia over IP. It also offers interfaces to products by Cedar Point Communications, which include a softswitch and trunking gateway in one unit and are widely deployed by the cable industry.

The NgN Analysis System is a probe-based nonintrusive monitoring and troubleshooting system for VoIP networks. It monitors signaling for both on-net and off-net calls
