Microsoft Announces Partnerships

06/07/2005

Microsoft Corp. at SUPERCOMM this week made several announcements regarding deals with other vendors.

First, the software giant says it plans to provide telecom operators with enhancements to its Connected Services Framework software that helps deliver services over IP networks.

Meanwhile, Microsoft also said it has signed a letter of intent with Sylantro Systems Corp. to develop and market enhanced VoIP solutions for telecommunications providers. Microsoft and Sylantro will integrate Sylantro’s Application Feature Server with the Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration. The resulting technology will enable service providers to offer subscribers combined VoIP, e-mail, collaboration, presence, instant messaging and desktop services, the companies say.

Finally, Microsoft also has signed a letter of intent with Amdocs, a provider of software and services for customer management, to help service providers more rapidly deliver converged, IP services to end users.

The companies will jointly develop, market and deliver technology that combines Amdocs consulting and implementation services. They also will market the recently announced Amdocs 6 product line and Microsoft Communications Sector solutions, including the Microsoft Connected Services Framework.
