Woman Sues Apple Over 3G iPhone Problems

08/22/2008

What do you do when your wireless phone is slow and your reception spotty? File a lawsuit, of course!

An Alabama woman decided to sue Apple (APPL) because she’s unhappy with her new iPhone 3G.

Jessica Alena Smith of Birmingham bought the phone after seeing a lot of ads about its faster speeds and reduced price. According to the lawsuit, the phone’s features are “slower than expected and advertised.”

The class-action suit says Apple is benefitting financially from a so-called defective product. It claims to have 100 plaintiffs and seeks damages of more than $5 million.
