WiMAX World: NSN Talks Strategy

Nokia Siemens Networks discussed its WiMAX strategy at WiMAX World 2008 this week, saying that it expects certification from the WiMAX Forum soon for the 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz profiles of the Flexi WiMAX Base Station.

Meanwhile, the vendor has performed interoperability testing with terminal and chipset vendors for 2.5GHz and also is testing with 3.5GHz terminals. It also is working to ensure radio network interoperability with several WiMAX core network infrastructure vendors, it said.

NSN has more than 20 WiMAX references deployed and noted that its first mobile WiMAX customers will start commercial operations within this year.
