VUDU Brings Web Content to Internet TV Device

Looking to expand the capabilities of its in-home Internet movie player, VUDU Inc. has announced an open platform that it believes will drive developers create applications to bring Web content to its device.

VUDU’s in-home viewing unit already enables consumers to watch movies and shows over a broadband connection, without needing a subscription to digital TV package from a traditional service provider.

A top exec for VUDU discussed the allure and challenges of Internet video to an audience of tier-2 and tier-3 service providers in a keynote speech at last months Telco TV show.
