Voxbone’s iNum: Think Globally, Dial Locally

DID and toll-free number provider Voxbone on Tuesday introduced iNum, one global phone number that lets users establish a local presence anywhere in the world.

Voxbone is using the International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) new +883 country code to provision iNum. Wholesale carriers including Level 3 Communications Inc., Arbinet and Stealth’s Voice Peering Fabric already are routing the +883 calls. Voxbone sends its iNum numbers to those providers for free.

The Belgium-based company is testing +883 with consumer-oriented service providers including Jajah, Mobivox, Ribbit and Voxeo.
