UK Investigates ‘Big Brother’ Web-Browsing Allegations

An investigation is underway in the UK over the contents of an internal memo at British Telecom (BT). The memo reportedly says the company data-mined the Web activities of 18,000 users in the fall of 2006, without telling them.

Is it illegal? That still must be worked out in the UK court system.
