Truphone Enhances iPod Touch App

VoIP and messaging operator Truphone has upgraded its application for the iPod Touch, enhancing users’ instant messaging and account management experience.

Truphone 3.0 offers an integrated messaging tool that unifies all IM communities into a portal, so users manage all of their IM communications from a single page within the application. IM services currently supported include Skype, MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger and Google Talk.

Truphone 3.0 features include:

Free calls when within a Wi-Fi hotspot to:

• Other Truphone users
• Skype and Google Talk users.

Free instant messages when within a Wi-Fi hotspot to:

• Skype
• MSN Messenger
• Google Talk
• Yahoo! Messenger
• AIM

Voice calling:

• To landlines and mobile phones around the world at inexpensive rates.

Account Management:

• See rates for calls before initiating a call.
• Display recent call history, showing the Truphone customer the exact cost of a just-ended call and how long it lasted, with the ability to see a summary of calls made month by month.
• Top up from within the application, without the need for Web windows to open separately.
• Top up in a variety of ways, including credit card or PayPal.
• Change calling tariffs within the application.

Truphone 3.0 already is available for the iPhone.
