Tier 1 U.S. Operator Picks Net Insight’s Nimbra

Net Insight says its Nimbra optical transport solution has been chosen by a global tier one telecom operator for a U.S. multiservice network.

The operator will deploy Net Insight's Nimbra 680 switches to provide standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video transport as well as IT data services on the same platform between Los Angeles and New York.

The Nimbra 680 is a next generation multiservice switch designed to meet the rigorous rich media and data service needs of the carrier and service provider markets. Net Insight says the switch provides the industry's lowest cost-per-bit switching and includes high switching capacity, end-to-end provisioning and restoration, full topology support and unique multicast support. The Nimbra platform offers 97 percent bandwidth utilization and 100 percent quality of service guaranteed.
