Texting? Surfing? No, Americans Use Cells for Talking

A new study says Americans use their cell phones primarily for ― get this ― talking.

Despite hour upon hour of commercials touting how great it is to surf the Web, take pictures or watch videos on your cell, a new study from the NPD Group shows 45 percent of you only use your mobile phone for making calls.

In fact, the researcher says only 20 percent use their phones as an all-in-one media device. The study found T-Mobile customers are the most likely to use advanced features. Sprint is second, AT&T third.
