Survey: Femtocells Have Bright Future

There’s now more research about an exciting new technology. A new survey shows how femtocells can be used in the future and the challenges both operators and vendors may face. The survey was done by independent market researcher Heavy Reading. The company posed questions to more than 100 service providers. Among the findings, the year 2010 was identified as the critical time to launch commercial femtocell services. Femtocells are mini cellular base stations that give give mobile phones access to cellular and home networks. They are supposed to reduce costs and improve service.
