BigBand Debuts New System for Telcos, Cablecos

Hoping to help video providers evolve from broadcast TV delivery to personalized video services such as IPTV, BigBand Networks Inc. (BBND) today announced the Media Services Platform MSP2000.

Under the hood of the system is a work-in-progress engine designed to help its customers provide more targeted advertising options and the foundation for interactive services. BigBand focused initially on cablecos and is now trying to add more telcos to its base.

The system is now in trials with commercial rollouts slated for next year.
