SeaChange Certifies Shenick Measurement Tech for VoD

Shenick Network Systems has announced that its diversifEye per-flow quality monitoring technology has been certified by SeaChange International Inc. (SEAC) to emulate and measure each individual video-on-demand (VoD) client behind residential gateways.

Shenick’s diversifEye will let VoD server giant SeaChange’s telco and cable operator customers quantify the quality of every video watched to help them meet subscribers’ expectations for quality of experience (QoE). The test and measurement vendor claims its technology can handle up to thousands of users at 10 Gbps Ethernet levels.

Shenick claims its technology simulates set-top boxes with VoD real-time streaming clients that are compliant with SeaChange video servers.

The VoD vendor’s operator customers can quantify the effect of mixed traffic environments on the quality of video flows.
