Roaming Deals Elevate Leap Footprint

What’s the old saying, if you can’t be acquired by ‘em, join ‘em?  Well, something like that. Anyhow ... Leap Wireless International Inc. (LEAP) has expanded its network coverage through agreements with MetroPCS and various other, smaller wireless outfits.

The 14 new roaming deals means Leap now is able to offer service in many major U.S. markets. And it offers an alternative, at least for the time being, to merging with a rival like MetroPCS, which last fall discussed plans to merge with Leap to create a fifth national wireless carrier.
