‘Ready to Strike’: Ringtone to Summon AT&T Workers

If new negotiations between AT&T Inc. (T) and its unionized wireline workers don’t go well, a ringtone will announce the beginning of a strike.

A Communications Workers of America (CWA) member reportedly wrote the ringtone.

CWA members are tussling with AT&T over health care coverage. AT&T wants to raise premiums and charge more for dependents while union employees want coverage to remain as-is. CWA was prepared to strike by midnight this past Saturday but it’s now in new talks with AT&T.
