03/31/2008
OTZ Telephone Cooperative is deploying 11 Taqua 7000 Switching Systems (T7000) to replace its legacy Class 5 switch network, Taqua said Monday. OTZ Telephone Cooperative provides local and long-distance telephone service, high-speed internet, and wireless communications to communities in northwest Alaska. The Taqua 7000 is a next-generation Class 5 switch which that has successfully replaced virtually every brand and vintage of Class 5 switch in North America. Based on a patented “switch-on-a-card” design, in which all the functions of a Class 5 switch or IP gateway are performed on a single circuit pack, the T7000 can support a variety of protocols including SS7, SIP, MGCP, GR-303, CAS, NCS, PRI and others over line, trunk or IP interfaces.
