NXTcomm: Ixia Certified by Carrier Ethernet Ecosystem

Network equipment vendors implementing the protocol need emulation-based tests in order to validate their products. Ixia’s PBT/PBB-TE emulation includes provider backbone bridging (IEEE 802.1ah) on the data plane and Ethernet CFM (IEEE 802.1ag or ITU-T Y.1731) on the control plane. Ixia provides full PBT/PBT-TE-specific configuration and statistics for both the data plane and the control plane.

Ixia demonstrated the interoperability of its PBT solution with Nortel and as many as nine other PBT equipment vendors at the European Advanced Networking Test Center's (EANTC) live test events for the Carrier Ethernet World Congress in 2007 and the MPLS and Ethernet World Congress in 2008 and had its PBT solution at NXTcomm.

Ixia also demonstrated a 100GB Ethernet proof-of-concept and new PBT and peer-to-peer solutions for IP networks. Avago Technologies, Infinera  and Ixia collaborated on live demonstrations that will send 100GB Ethernet traffic over a long-haul network. Ixia also demonstrated an initial implementation of 100GB Ethernet line-rate traffic generation and analysis.
