Nominum has come out with broad-ranging Internet security product news, including a new architecture, new products and some enhancements to existing offers.
The new Trusted Response and Universal Enforcement (TRUE) architecture and related products have the following benefits, according to Nominum. They help broadband service providers generate new revenue through paid subscriber services; reduce the cost of help desk calls from users victimized by Internet threats; offer network-wide protection, which applies to all users, devices and applications yet have no impact to users, browsers and applications; are non-intrusive; offer much better performance vs. competing solutions within the same price range; don’t require new hardware or a network overhaul; scale up to a billion malicious Internet destinations; and support multiple threat data sources.
“At COLT, we’re working cooperatively with the regulatory agencies in Italy to prevent access to illegal gambling and content on the Internet as a value to the community of users we serve,” said Stefano Maifreni, product manager for Internet access services at COLT. “With Nominum’s new products, we can comply with new requirements quickly without any changes to the network or user behavior. We plan to leverage these products to deliver ongoing security and safety from other threats.”
Products under Nominum’s TRUE architecture that help service providers realize these benefits include the Vantio Base Server, a caching DNS platform that has been enhanced with a modular design for on-demand addition of new services. New from Nominum is the Vantio MDR (Malicious Domain Redirection) Service Delivery Module, an add-on software module for the Vantio Base Server with real-time enforcement of threat data and security policies to safe guard Internet interactions. It acts as a self-learning enforcement point in the network and redirects user requests for malicious destinations to a helpful provider-managed notification page. Also launched today was the Centris Server, a threat aggregation and provisioning platform capable of tracking up to a billion malicious Internet destinations. It complements the Vantio MDR module by synchronizing with a wide range of threat information feeds in real-time and making the data instantaneously available to MDR enforcement nodes.
All products are software only, generally available and may be purchased separately. Pricing is configuration dependent.
