Nokia Siemens Outsources HR, Marketing, More

170 Employees To Be ‘Transferred’ to Accenture, Wipro, Tieto

10/20/2009

Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) is outsourcing its IT jobs to three firms.

The news comes as Nokia Corp. and Siemens insiders say the two companies want to sell their money-losing joint venture.

NSN said the transfer of more than 170 employees to Accenture, Wipro and Tieto will increase company flexibility. In other words, there will be less overhead in the form of physical space used, and salaries and benefits paid.

Accenture will handle HR and financial control services; Wipro will oversee SAP, delivery, market, sales and product data management applications; and Tieto will tackle R&D and “care-related” applications.

NSN expects the outsourcing deal to be finalized on Feb. 1, 2010.
