Motorola Aims OSS/BSS Software at Microsoft Mediaroom

Motorola Inc. (MOT) took another dive into the IPTV pool on Monday when it announced OSS/BSS integration with Microsoft Corp.’s (MSFT) Mediaroom software.

Motorola’s Home & Networks Mobility unit launched the Communications Convergence Engine (CCE), a platform that that works with Mediaroom. Combined, the products help service providers deploy and customize their IPTV services, such as targeting advertising to specific demographics. Operators also can sell the so-called three-screen experience, where video-on-demand is accessible on PCs, TVs and mobile handsets.

Motorola said CCE’s integration with Mediaroom further means flexible content packages, new billing options and end-user personalization. Plus, CCE installs quickly into operators’ back-office systems, which results in faster IPTV Mediaroom deployments, Motorola said.
