Microsoft Xbox to Drive Social Networking to the TV

Interactive TV is making a comeback. But this time it’s with a new bent: social networking.

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) is reportedly one of the companies to move in this new direction, with plans to unveil Nov. 19 a new version of Xbox Live that goes beyond gaming to include a chat feature. It allows up to eight people to communicate and is intended to expand the appeal of Xbox Live beyond just serious gamers.
