Take That, Apple! Microsoft Taps Seinfeld for Ads

08/22/2008

Software giant Microsoft (MSFT) will pay Jerry Seinfeld $10 million to represent the company in a new series of advertisements. The whole campaign will cost $300 million.

The commercials, which will also feature Bill Gates, are intended to compete with Apple’s (APPL) “cool” image and its ads that portray Microsoft as uncool and unsafe. Microsoft has taken a beating lately over a series of problems, including those associated with its Windows Vista operating system.
