IPC Picks Overture Networks for Ethernet Services
08/19/2008
Overture Networks has announced IPC Systems will use Overture’s ISG product family as part of its Ethernet Connection Service (ECS) for financial trading firms. IPC says it selected Overture based on the flexibility and manageability of the ISG products, which allow IPC to support a wide range of customer environments. The company believes its ECS gives trading firms a wide range of secure, dedicated Ethernet private lines for low-latency electronic trading. ECS is supposed to make the firms more productive and simplify customer management of connections to important trading partners and markets. “Overture Networks stood out for a number of reasons,” explained Steve Kammerer, IPC Network Services’ vice president of service development. “Its Tier-1 carrier-grade products easily met our technology requirements. The ISG family not only boasts low power consumption but is easy-to-install and monitor. The ISGs are also scalable enough to use as edge aggregation and customer premises equipment. Perhaps most important was Overture’s Ethernet expertise and its team’s ability and willingness to help us build a new service with Ethernet as a core technology.” Related Articles Verizon Buisiness Certifies Overture Networks Ethernet Offerings
