inQ Says Live Chat Services Popular Among Communications Service Providers

08/05/2008

inQ, a company that provides live chat services between companies and customers, is making inroads among telecom service providers, as well as cable and satellite TV operators.

The California-based firm counts AT&T Inc., Sprint Nextel Corp., Virgin Media Ltd. and Vonage Holdings Inc. among its customers, it said on Tuesday.

inQ combines software and human agents as part of an outsourced service; clients pay only for performance – read, results – or the chat-assisted sales generated by inQ agents. inQ is run in part by Kenn MacKay, a former 26-year AT&T employee.

“The substantial boost in sales and our pay-for-performance business model have earned us the trust of our various telecommunications, cable and satellite industry clients,” MacKay said.
