Hurtin’ for Certain: Used Office Cubicles for Sale

In a stark and vivid reminder of corporate downsizing and troubling economic times, Furniture Resellers Inc. has begun a broad e-mail marketing campaign, including photos, designed to sell such office staples as used cubicles.

The effort is part of the firm’s huge office liquidation sale of cubes from the New York and New Jersey areas. The initial Furniture Resellers e-mail includes the following used car-like listings:

• 166- Herman Miller AO2 Marketing stations 60"w x 53" tall. Real nice, great as-is condition. Located in NJ.
• 120- Knoll Morrison stations, 5' x 5', 42" tall. Good as-is condition. Have glass stacker panels too. Located in NYC.

Photos of the unoccupied office cubicles, embedded in the e-mail, might have some wondering what office icons will be up for resale next, in this troubling economy, racked by huge recent job losses in the private sector.
