Home Networking Advanced with Homeplug Progress
12/22/2008
In what’s fast become a busy season on the home networking support front, the IEEE today gave approval to the HomePlug scheme for connecting devices to fuel residential consumer services adoption. The news comes just days after the Digital Living Network Alliance added Multimedia over Coax (MOCA) to its 2009 list of home network specs. Separately, the ITU announced the creation of a standard, G.hn, that comprises and consolidates all wireline networking schemes; chips will need to be made and built into home devices in 2009 and beyond.
