Holiday Bargains Didn’t Save Online Retail

Despite good news from Amazon, Wal-Mart and Apple, the online sales season will go down as one of the worst ever for e-commerce. Online spending wasn’t down as much as the rest of retail between Nov. 1 and Christmas, but figures show it was off 2 percent, despite a huge amount of bargains that could be had. Retail as a whole was off between 5.5 and 8 percent.
