Hitachi, Falcon IP/Complete Team Up for IPTV Solution
08/28/2008
Hitachi Telecom has teamed up with Missouri-based Falcon IP/Complete to provide a fully integrated MPEG-4 IPTV solution. It’s for service providers who are implementing Hitachi’s AMN1220 Gigabit Passive Optical Network Fiber to the Premises solution. The combined solution is especially suited for municipalities, master planned communities and telcos that provide triple-play services to rural areas and smaller communities that need a source for their own competitive video offering. Channel lineups are flexible, and currently include 180 standard definition and 32 HDTV channels, along with 56 music channels and all local channels. "Our concept of 'Bird to box' is unique, in that we provide the complete solution from satellite selection to the subscriber's set top box. We take care of all integration and installation of the equipment and software required for services delivery as well as ongoing 24/7 support," said Donald R. Cook, president and CEO of Falcon IP/Complete. "We are pleased to partner with Falcon IP/Complete as part of our Source-to-Subscriber initiative," Said Rick Schiavinato, Hitachi Telecom vice president of sales and marketing. "Our objective is to offer revenue-producing solutions to our customers ─ solutions that can give them faster time-to-market against their competition."
