Google Apps Now Offers SLA
10/31/2008
Software as a service has become a hot area in the last year or two as companies like Amazon (AMZN), and Google Inc. (GOOG), as well as competitive service providers including Cbeyond (CBEY), have offered e-mail and other productivity software from “the cloud.” But there’s a big potential problem with this model – and that is application accessibility. Google, however, is addressing this issue by offering service level agreements, or SLAs, around the premium version of its Google Apps. Customers who experience downtime of more than 45 minutes a month get additional days of service tacked on to the end of their contracts.
