Clearwire: WiMAX Might Be Delayed

The truth hits everybody: Clearwire Corp. was planning to cover 140 million potential subscribers by 2010, but CEO Ben Wolff reportedly said this week that it needed an additional $2 billion to make that happen. The problem, of course, is an unforgiving credit market. Result: a halting of construction? Clearwire, which is branding the WiMAX service as “Clear,” also said this week it is open to the possibility of building out LTE, another 4G technology, as well.
