Blockbuster Goes Broadband

Blockbuster Inc. (BBI) is going broadband.

The movie rental giant has teamed up with Sonic Solutions Inc. (SNIC) to offer Blockbuster and Cinema Now movies for rental and sale via PC, mobile phone and connected TVs and Blu-ray players.

Netflix (NFLX), which has traditionally delivered movies to customers through the mail, recently made a similar move to distribute its content via broadband-connected devices.
