BigBand Networks Slashes 46 Jobs

Forty-six people fell victim to the budget ax at video-equipment vendor BigBand Networks (BBND) this week. That’s about 10 percent of the company’s employees.

BigBand actually made a $7 million profit last quarter as its revenue jumped 76 percent. But the company’s president says he’s concerned about the sad shape of the economy and its potential to impact spending by service providers.
