Apple’s Jobs Still on the Job?

04/13/2009

You might stay home from work with a cold or a tummy ache. Word is Apple’s Steve Jobs is staying very busy with company doings even though he’s on extended medical leave.

There’s been much speculation about Jobs’ illness – with little confirmed – which he described last summer as a hormonal imbalance that would be easy to treat. He acknowledged shortly after that it was more challenging than he first thought. Jobs was treated for pancreatic cancer a few years ago.

The Wall Street Journal reports sources close to Apple say Jobs is working on both products and strategies from home. He is reportedly instrumental in the development of new iPhone models as well as netbooks.

Jobs has said he plans to return to the office at the end of June. Apple’s stock could use his formidable presence. It started dropping in his absence, well before “recession” became the everyday word it is today.
