Apple: ‘We Took a Bite Outta BlackBerry’

Ahhh, the fruits of telecom’s labor. Apple Inc. (AAPL) continues to take a bite out of the phone industry with high iPhone sales. In fact, the company says it outsold RIM’s (RIMM) popular BlackBerry in the third quarter.

Apple on Tuesday reported earnings of $1.14 billion on sales of $7.9 billion. The star product, of course, was the iPhone – Apple sold 6.9 million of the flashy touch devices in the third quarter.

Naturally, Macbook and iPod sales didn’t hurt Apple’s third-quarter earnings, either.

Now all that talk of Apples and BlackBerries has made us hungry.
