Apple Elves Tool Away on Future iPhones

What is afoot in Santa Jobs’ Apple (AAPL) workshop is anyone’s guess, but that doesn’t stop analysts from speculating about what’s on the iPhone horizon.

Kaufman Bros.’ Shaw Wu predicts there are three new iPhones in the works, two of which will make it to shelves. Wu hears these phones will be beefed-up and toned-down versions of their previous selves – one offering a little more battery life and functionality, and one offering a little less. Wu also noted that about a million and a half more phones than previously thought will be produced, although it’s not clear if Christmas will come in June or July. Wu also predicted that AT&T would debut a tiered service plan in place of its one-size-fits-all offering.
