Sprint Integrates MySpace On-Deck
12/14/2007
Sprint Nextel will offer one-click access to MySpace from its mobile on-deck portal, it said this week. Sprint will be the first U.S. wireless carrier to link to the free MySpace Mobile Web site once it officially launches in early 2008. MySpace Mobile will feature rich graphical design, a revamped e-mail interface and other new features, according to MySpace owner Fox Interactive Media. Sprint subscribers can use MySpace at no additional charge, but will need an enabled phone to use the one-click access from the carrier deck. In September, MySpace announced that it would beta launch a new, ad-supported mobile Web site, MySpace Mobile Web, free and accessible to any user with access to the mobile Web; it requires opening the browser on a phone and typing in http://mobile.myspace.com. MySpace also offers premium services with AT&T Mobile, T-Mobile USA Inc. and Helio, which offer slightly more functionality than MySpace Mobile. These services do not, however, feature the one-click access Sprint subscribers will have. MySpace www.myspace.com
