TelcoTV: ZyXEL Unveils Bonded ADSL2+ CPE Solution
10/25/2007
ZyXEL Communications Corp., a provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, announced at TelcoTV an extension to its ADSL product line with the addition of a bonded ADSL2+ CPE router and support for bonded ADSL2+ to ADSL2+ line cards for multiservice access nodes (MSAN) and standalone ADSL2+ DSLAMs. Bonded ADSL2+ technology provides high-speed connections for rich media services to customers out of reach of the central office or digital loop carrier. With ADSL2+ loop bonding, service providers can combine two existing copper phone lines into a single connection that delivers high-bandwidth access, said ZyXEL. ZyXEL's P663H-51 modem router supports speeds of up to 48mbps downstream and 4mbps upstream, and includes four 10/100 Ethernet LAN ports. It also provides TR069 protocol for remote management, SPI firewall and DOS protection for security and advanced QoS and multicasting features for triple play. "With bonded ADSL2+ support, now carriers with original ADSL2/2+ technology will be able to offer high-bandwidth services to their subscribers without additional investment," said Munira Brooks, senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development for ZyXEL. ZyXEL’s MSAN products enable versatile line card support for ADSL2/2+, VDSL2, G.SHDSL and POTS/VoIP services, the company said. ZyXEL Communications Corp. www.us.zyxel.com
