XO to Provide Network Services for SAVVIS

XO Communications said it has signed a multiyear, multimillion dollar agreement to provide local access network services to SAVVIS Inc. to support the company’s data center expansion plans and growing demand for its IT infrastructure services.

SAVVIS has the option to purchase high-capacity local access network services, including XO Metro and Inter-City Ethernet Services and XO Wavelength services at 2.5gbps and 10 gbps speeds. SAVVIS currently has 23 data centers encompassing 1.3 million square feet and has announced plans to develop four new data centers in Atlanta, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Santa Clara, Calif.
